About

A passion for fishing from childhood

I have been fishing since I was a young kid in england. Crabbing off the pier, searching tide pools with my dip net and bucket. After moving to Canada I spent the summer fishing the creeks and streams of Ontario for bass, perch, sunfish and anything else I could land. I would spend most of my Summers bicycling to a nearby Creek then staying till dark.

Later on after moving out west to Alberta I started fishing the lakes and rivers out here. I have recently developed a great liking for ice fishing. Spending most weekends out on the ice looking to improve my personal best pike and walleye plus the occasional trip out to British Columbia to fish the oceans and other bodies of water.

Goal of this website

When I first started fishing in Alberta I found it very hard to find clear and concise information on any specific body of water. I would spend hours combing the forums and various websites trying to find what species were available near me and how to catch them.

From researching fishing spots for myself I found many other anglers had questions about various venues. Questions such as what can I catch there? What is the access like? is there a boat launch? What is the best bait etc.

I aim to answer as many of these common questions in my fishing spot articles as I can to make it easier for all Anglers to find local spots that fit their fishing style and goals. In addition for people traveling to western Canada to better identify what lakes , streams and rivers they want to target on their fishing adventure.
